Rosemont Kitchen Remodel

This Philadelphia suburb home had a 40-year old kitchen with a traditional style layout. The home owner wanted to modernize the space with new appliances, open it up for entertainment, and create more light. The original request was to expand the footprint, but due to budget constraints we had to work with the existing building envelope.

By opening the kitchen up to the dining room with a large pocket door, we were able to create more natural light and a view of the front yard from kitchen. We also removed the mudroom to create a breakfast nook, and captured space from a rear staircase that was not being used and is now a coat closet with additional storage.
